T.K. Plowright has spent much of his life passionately exploring the nature of existence.

 

After 18 months in the mountains of Tasmania immersed in silence and consciousness, he went on to work with the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland, founded the Awareness Centre in Sydney, and co-founded the Homeland Foundation in New South Wales. He has lectured widely across Australia on the awakening of sensitivity, the limits of thought, the discovery of stillness, and the emergence of deeper intelligence.

Alongside his philosophical work, Plowright is an accomplished artist and sculptor. His figurative and contemporary public works can be found across Australia and internationally, including at Darling Harbour, the Sydney Cricket Ground, Hyde Park, Bondi Junction, Auckland, Maroochydore, Broome, Shepparton, Ballarat, Adelaide, and Dhaka. His 2000 Olympic objet d’art raised $1.72 million to support financially struggling athletes. He has created monumental works over 22 metres high and 50 metres wide, as well as murals, stained glass, glass mosaics, sacred furnishings, sculptural water features, and cenotaphs.

Plowright has been the subject of two television documentaries and a feature-length film that won 14 international awards. His artistic achievements have been recognised with the President’s Award from the Sculptors Society of NSW, the People’s Choice Award at the McClelland Survey, two Medici Medals in Florence, and an Order of Australia.

To Dance With Immensity is his first book, the culmination of 20 years of reflection and writing.
